As Catherine, Princess of Wales undergoes cancer treatment, her parents Michael and Carole Middleton are reportedly trying to solve a major financial crisis.
Hoping to shield their sick daughter from their struggles, the Middleton family is in more than $450,000 in debt, according to a new report from The Times UK.

The publication claims the family has been unable to pay off outstanding balances after its business, Party Pieces, went into administration in 2023.
The party supplies business, spearheaded by Carole Middleton and launched in 1987, faced “cash flow challenges”, according to a report filed to Companies House in June 2023.
“Carole is desperately trying to keep Catherine fully focused on her recovery,” a source told Us Weekly following the report in The Times UK.
“It’s a very worrying time for the family but they are not looking for any assistance from their children and don’t want them to worry.”
Kate is the oldest of Michael and Carole Middleton’s children, ahead of Pippa Mathews and James Middleton.
“Catherine and her parents are very close and they always check in with each other, but talk about the business is off limits as she needs to focus on her health,” the Us Weekly source said.
Two years before Party Pieces entered administration, the company launched a partnership in the US with retailer Saker ShopRites.
“It’s very exciting to see our Party Pieces Collection expanding into the US starting with Saker ShopRites, a leading retailer in New Jersey and family-owned business with a long history of commitment to the customers and communities its stores serve,” the Middletons said in a statement at the time.
Soon after the expansion, key financial backers left the company, leading to Party Pieces entering administration in June 2023.
Reports that the Middletons are having financial issues come as Kate continues her recovery, weeks after announcing she had been diagnosed with a form of cancer.
Kate shared in a March 22 video that she was undergoing “preventative chemotherapy” for an undisclosed cancer discovered in test results following abdominal surgery in January.
“This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” she said.
In February, King Charles revealed he, too, was to have treatment for cancer, and would have to postpone his public duties.
Buckingham Palace said the King was “so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did” about her treatment.
