King Charles says he is “so proud” of his daughter-in-law Catherine, Princess of Wales, after she revealed she is receiving treatment for cancer.
Kate, 42, announced her diagnosis about 6pm Friday local time, confirming she was diagnosed with the disease after a planned abdominal surgery in January.
The news comes after the King revealed he also had cancer in February.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said the King was “so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did”, according to the BBC.
The statement added after their shared time in hospital together, Charles has “remained in the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law throughout the past weeks”.
The spokesperson added that Charles and his wife Camilla “will continue to offer their love and support to the whole family through this difficult time”.
Charles, who underwent a corrective procedure for an enlarged prostate, received his cancer diagnosis in February after doctors identified another issue while carrying out the operation.
Like Charles, Kate has not revealed what type of cancer she is facing, but said her chemotherapy treatment was “preventative” and that she will be “OK”.
The diagnosis comes after news staff at The London Clinic, where Kate underwent abdominal surgery, were investigated after allegedly attempting to access Kate’s medical records.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released a short statement in support of Kate, saying “we wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace”.
