KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WDAF) – Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are planning to open a new restaurant in Kansas City next year.
On Thursday, restaurant group Noble 33 announced a partnership with the Super Bowl champions to launch a “modern American steakhouse” called 1587 Prime, named for Mahomes’ and Kelce’s jersey numbers. The steakhouse is scheduled to open at the Loew’s Hotel in Kansas City in early 2025.
“Travis and I have become frequent visitors of Noble 33 restaurants in other cities, so it only made sense to bring something special to our own community in Kansas City,” Mahomes said in a press release.
“We’re excited to be a part of this journey with Noble 33 to create a one-of-a-kind dining experience, and what better place to start than our very own, Kansas City[?]” Kelce was quoted as saying.
Noble 33 says the two-level steakhouse will feature multiple private dining rooms and one of the largest wine collections in the state of Missouri. Throughout the restaurant, there will also be “hyper-subtle nods to Patrick and Travis’ on-field accomplishments,” according to the press release.
Noble 33 currently operates several restaurants, mostly in the United States. Including 1587 Prime, the group currently has half a dozen new eateries in the works, according to its website.
Apart from opening a steakhouse, Mahomes and Kelce have also invested in a Kansas City pickleball/restaurant concept known as Chicken N Pickle. Both men are also investors in beverage brands, and Mahomes is a current Whataburger franchisee.
