Blue Jays’ Guerrero Jr. would like to bring back home run jacket

Toronto Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is calling for the return of the team’s home run jacket.

The Blue Jays introduced the celebratory sports coat in July 2021 as players were presented with it whenever they returned to the dugout after hitting a home run.

Although the jacket was absent last season, Guerrero Jr. would like to see it make a comeback.

“I just want to bring the jacket back,” Guerrero Jr. told Sportsnet’s Hazel Mae. “We’re working to bring the jacket back or do something. If the players don’t want to do it, I’ll probably do it myself in the corner.”

“But I’m gonna have fun,” he added. “I’m gonna have fun this year.”

Check out his reason in this sneak peek from Blue Jays Central’s The Interview Room series, which kicks off with the team’s season opener on March 28.
