Booking.com has released the top holiday destinations Australians are booking ahead of Easter and the upcoming April school holidays.

The Gold Coast has ranked number one on the domestic charts, according to Booking.com’s latest data, as travellers likely hope to hold onto the sunshine and warm weather.

Next on the list is Sydney, brimming with events from the Royal Sydney Easter Show to live music.

This is followed by Melbourne in third place, with Adelaide at number four and Perth rounding out the top five.

Asia dominated the top 10 international destinations from Booking.com, with Japan on top (up five places), followed by Singapore (up three places), Seminyak and Ubud.

Aussies are also looking for the hustle and bustle of cities, as Ho Chi Minh City and Hong Kong rise a massive 22 and 14 spots on the list respectively.
