No matter how you picture Billie Eilish‘s hair — whether that’s with bright red (recently retired) roots, neon green (long-retired) roots, or shaggy blonde — one thing has almost always been true: it leans on the flatter side. And I don’t mean that in a bad way! I love her sleek style. So imagine my surprise when she arrived at the 2024 Oscars with the most voluminous blowout not just of her career but quite possibly on the entire Academy Awards red carpet.
Eilish attended the Oscars alongside brother Finneas, with whom she’s nominated once again for Best Original Song — this time for “What Was I Made For,” the heartwrenching ballad from the Barbie movie soundtrack. And while she didn’t bring back the blonde, ponytailed wig from the song’s video, she translated its smooth yet full finish into her long, loose, dark brown hair.
Parted in the middle as they so often are, Eilish’s roots have spectacular lift, and that impressive height continued down the length into impressive circumference. Her layers have been given what I’m guessing is both the the round-brush-blowout treatment and the velcro roller treatment in order to achieve such body.
