Fortnite developer Epic Games is taking the game offline for the release of Chapter 5, Season 2. Coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox consoles, Nintendo Switch, Android and PC, update 29.00 will be available to download on the morning of March 7. It will be accompanied by a period of server downtime, which means you won’t be able to play Fortnite for at least a couple of hours. If you want to know when you can log back into Fortnite, check out the Chapter 5, Season 2 server downtime schedule below.
Fortnite will be taken offline from 8am GMT UK time for a period of extended server maintenance.
With the maintenance period ushering in the launch of Chapter 5, Season 2, fans should expect downtime to last for longer than usual.
The news was announced by Epic Games on Twitter, alongside a cinematic trailer previewing the new Battle Pass characters and Mythic abilities.
“Wave a lil goodbye to the big hand. Downtime for Ch5 S2 – Myths & Mortals starts at 3:00 AM ET with matchmaking disabled a few minutes prior.”
While there’s no official end time listed for the Chapter 5, Season 2 maintenance, the game is expected to be offline until around 11am GMT UK time.
Express Online will keep you updated with the latest developments during the server downtime for Chapter 5, Season 2.
As you can see from the teaser trailer above, the new season has a Greek Mythology theme.
New skins are said to include Poseiden, Cerberus, Aphrodite, Zeus, Ares, Hades, Medusa, Artemes, and Odyssey.
New Mythics (which you can see in the trailer above) are said to include Zeus’ Lightning Bolt, Cerberus’ Wolves, Hades’ Chains and Icarus’ Wings.
Other leaks suggest there will be a Persona crossover, new items that give players a speed boost and a Mount Olympus POI.
