York police appeal for information after shots fired at Markham home

Suspects and witnesses are sought after gunshots were fired at a Markham home in broad daylight last month.

On Tuesday, York Regional Police released video footage of the violent incident that happened on Feb. 28 at 3:15 p.m. in the Castlemore Ave.-Solace Rd. area.

Police arrived in the neighbourhood and found a home that had been struck by multiple bullets.

“There was one person home at the time, however, there were no injuries,” Const. Lisa Moskaluk said in a news release.

Video surveillance shows a black, four-door sedan enter the area and park on Castlemore. A man is seen approaching the home on foot before discharging his weapon.

The suspect is described as a tall, skinny, dark-skinned male who was wearing a black hooded jacket, white shirt, black jogging pants and a black face mask.

The suspect vehicle is also described as having dark tinted windows and black rims.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the incident and had not yet spoken to police to come forward. Investigators are also seeking video surveillance from the area, including dashcam footage.
