(NewsNation) — Beyoncé Knowles Carter ruled the country roost with her single “Texas Hold ‘Em” last week — but the leader of the Beyhive still hasn’t found the fashion home she’s looking for.
Last year, sportswear giant Adidas and Beyoncé severed their deal, ending the five-year collaboration on Ivy Park, claiming the decision was mutual and citing “major creative differences.”
An insider told me, “It was a $100 million deal — Adidas paid her $20 million a year for five years and, unlike their collaboration with Kanye and Yeezys, (Ivy Park) never made any money. They offered her another deal for $7 million a year, but she turned them down.”
Beyoncé then tried to go to Nike, which also turned her down. Both Adidas and Nike have been suffering from lackluster sales, and Nike just announced major layoffs.
“(Beyoncé) really loves fashion and wants to get back into it but needs the right partner,” the source added. Presumably, a deep-pocketed partner.
But Queen Bey is still keeping busy outside the music world — she just released a new hair care line, Cécred.
