Brazilian model and actress Kamylla Rosa jokingly messaged her mom to tell her she would not be coming home — and moments later, she was struck by a car while fixing a wheel on a highway, according to a report.

The 22-year-old stopped with a pair of friends on the shoulder of a road in the central city of Piracanjuba last Tuesday when she was run over, the U.K.’s Daily Mail reported.

One of Rosa’s friends was driving the vehicle and noticed a problem with one of the front wheels, military police said. They pulled over and found the wheel was missing several screws.
Rosa stepped out of the car to fix the wheel when she was struck by a motorist, who fled the scene, the Daily Mail reported.
No arrests had been reported as of Tuesday.

Rosa’s friend, Bruno Souza, told TV Anhanguera the driver “looked back and fled when he saw what he had done.”
Rosa had sent her mom, Ana Rosa, a voice message joking that she wasn’t going to return to the family home that evening, Brazilian news outlet Metropoles reported.
Rosa was on her way back from Caldas Novas, where she had attended a carnival with her friends.
The actress was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, while another woman was also clipped by the vehicle and suffered minor injuries.
