Suspect found hiding from police inside wheelie bin on suburban street in Park Holme, South Australia

A man who hid from South Australian police when he was spotted acting “suspiciously” in a suburban street was later found in a “questionable” location, after a police dog was called in to find him.

A resident alerted police to someone they spotted via CCTV acting strangely around cars in Pildappa Ave, Park Holme about 1.40am on Friday.

The resident described the man to police and told them he was riding a pushbike.

The area was cordoned off while a police dog named Edge was called in to help find the man.

Edge searched along Cungena Ave and indicated at a wheelie bin, police said, while a nearby resident approached officers to say they suspected someone was hiding inside the bin.

When police opened the bin they found a man, aged 30, allegedly in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine and two ice pipes.

The man of no fixed address was charged with being unlawfully on premises and breach of bail.

He is due to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday.
