Three people have been rescued from the wreckage of a serious multi-vehicle crash on an overpass in northern Wollongong, NSW on Friday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Lawrence Hargrave Dr in Thirroul following reports of a crash involving a truck and car just before 2pm (AEST).
Three people were removed from the wreckage of the “extremely serious crash”, Fire and Rescue NSW Superintendent Adam Dewberry said.

One of the injured is understood to be a woman aged in her 30s.
She suffered head injuries and has been taken to St George Hospital for treatment.
“Paramedics continue the treatment and will be transporting (patients) to hospital as soon as possible,” Dewberry said.
“There are a number of ambulance helicopters on scene that will no doubt assist with that transportation.”
The site will be examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit on Friday afternoon.
“The road is expected to remain closed for some time and the public is urged to avoid the area,” police said.
Bulli Pass is also closed southbound at the M1 Princes Motorway.
