Man fighting for life after crash on Campbelltown Rd, Bardia

A man is fighting for life after the car he was a passenger in crashed into a fence southwest of Sydney.

The vehicle crashed along Campbelltown Rd, Bardia early on Monday, trapping the front seat passenger inside for more than an hour.

Emergency services were called about 2.30am and worked to free the 59-year-old man.

He was treated by paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

The 41-year-old male driver was also assessed by paramedics and taken to hospital as a precaution.

Police remain at the crash site as investigations continue.

Campbelltown Rd is currently closed in both directions between Borneo St and Soldiers Pde and is expected to remain a crime scene for “a considerable amount of time”.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
