(NEXSTAR) – Universal Orlando shared a new look at Epic Universe, the company’s newest and much-anticipated theme park set to open in Orlando in 2025.
The theme park will feature more than 50 attraction, entertainment, dining, and shopping options across five “expansive worlds,” Universal Orlando Resort said in a news release on Tuesday.
The theme park’s main hub “Celestial Park,” which will feature gardens and fountains, will serve as the park’s hub to other “worlds.”
Guests will travel through “portals” to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic will be the latest addition to Universal’s Harry Potter-themed lands at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure. This newest “world” will feature “different era of the wizarding world in an all-new land that blends 1920s wizarding Paris from Warner Bros. Pictures’ Fantastic Beasts films with the iconic British Ministry of Magic from the Harry Potter series,” Universal Orlando said in a news release.
SUPER NINTENDO WORLD will offer guests the chance to travel through a green pipe to join the world of Mario and Luigi.
How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk will give guests a chance to soar with dragons and is based on the How to Train Your Dragon film franchise.
Dark Universe will feature “the experiments of Dr. Victoria Frankenstein to the shadowy landscape where monsters roam in a world of myth and mystery,” Universal Orlando said in a news release.
Celestial Park will also include a grand carousel and “Starfall Racers,” a dual-launch racing coaster with a top speed of 62mph along 5,000 feet of track.
“Starfall Racers will be Epic Universe’s most thrilling coaster experience with unique maneuvers such as the “Celestial Spin,” in which the two coaster vehicles perform an inverted crisscross while speeding through the air – creating an “out-of-this-world” adrenaline rush,” Universal Orlando said in a news release.
Universal Orlando also revealed Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a 500-room hotel with a dedicated entrance into the new theme park.
Universal says more details about the new theme park and the four “worlds” will be revealed in the coming months.
