An unidentified man is sought for sparking a fire inside of a downtown Toronto bookstore last month.

Toronto Police say officers responded to an arson call at a bookstore near Yonge and Shuter Sts. around 3:15 p.m. on Dec. 17, 2023.

A man entered the employee area of the store, poured a flammable liquid onto books and boxes, then set the liquid on fire and took off, police said Friday.
Investigators have released images of a suspect hoping members of the public can help identify him.
The man is described as six-feet tall, with a medium build.
He was wearing a black hat, blue medical mask, beige suit pants, beige suit jacket with a maroon colour inside, light-blue dress shirt, and multi-coloured dress shoes. One shoe was blue and the other was green.

At this time, cops say there is no evidence to suggest this incident was motivated by hate.
