Convicted human trafficker allegedly busts out of ankle monitor: Cops

A 31-year-old Brampton man convicted of human trafficking is sought after allegedly removing his ankle monitor while awaiting a sentencing hearing.

Halton Regional Police said Ryan Gentles removed his monitor on Tuesday and fled the Dixie Rd.-Bovaird Dr. area.

Gentles had previously been released on bail and was awaiting sentencing on human-trafficking charges, for which he pleaded guilty to. Those charges included trafficking in persons, material benefit resulting from trafficking in persons, advertising sexual services and four counts of assault.

He is described as about 6-foot and 200 pounds with a medium build. He is known to frequent the GTA, specifically Etobicoke, North York and Scarborough.

Gentles also goes by the name of “Grizzy Gwop” and has a tattoo on his left arm with this alias.

Anyone who has come into contact with Gentles or has information concerning his whereabouts is asked to call the police at 905-825-4747, Ext. 5331.
