Grant Denyer’s terrifying moment at home

Grant Denyer has had a close encounter of the slithery kind after a tiger snake got up close and personal with the side of his house.

Taking to Instagram, the former Sunrise star shared footage of the reptile moving along the outside bottom window of his home on the outskirts of Bathurst in rural NSW.

To the tune of How Much Is That Doggy In The Window, a nervous-looking Denyer sang, “How much is that tiger snake in the window?”

“The one with the waggly tail?

“How much venom will it take to kill me?

“I wish the hospital was a little bit closer than it is …”

He captioned the video, “Worst Christmas display ever.”

Denyer’s followers were creeped out by the snake’s proximity.

“I seriously don’t know how you cope living there. I’d be done! 🐍 😮🔥 😂” one follower wrote.

“I’d be buying blue tongue lizards by the truck loads,” observed another.

“Burn the house down and run!” joked a third.

Another simply wrote: “NOPE.”

“Where’s Chezzi the experienced snake handler/remover,” wondered one fan, referring to Grant’s wife Chezzi Denyer.

Chezzi once shuffled a snake away in the backyard with a broom, prompting followers to call her brave.

While hubby sheltered inside the house with their daughters Sailor, Scout and Sunday, Chezzi was the one to get out with the broom and barbecue tongs and usher the snake away from the back door (and the pet dog).

“Go Chez!” Grant wrote, posting a video of the snake face-off.

“When Mr Brown comes to visit, trust the chick who had snakes as a kid to take care of it.

This time around, however, Chez was nowhere to be seen.

“And this is why I live in the city,” one fan remarked.

“I’d be sleeping with one eye open,” said another.

Added a third: “Funny looking tinsel.”
