A second man has been arrested for a violent carjacking that occurred a week ago in North York.

Toronto Police say officers responded in the early morning hours of Dec. 15 to a call about a carjacking in the area of Victoria Park Ave. and Consumers Rd.

A man was driving his car in the area around 3 a.m. when he was bumped from behind by another vehicle, police said in a statement released Friday.
Cops said when the man pulled over, four masked males emerged and approached his vehicle.
One of the men allegedly forced open the victim’s door and demanded his car while assaulting him.

Police said the man was physically removed from his car and allegedly robbed of personal items.
Two of the carjackers drove off in the victim’s vehicle while the other two fled in the other vehicle.

The victim suffered minor injuries, police said.
The Provincial Carjacking Joint Task Force took carriage of the investigation and tracked down both vehicles in Brampton.
According to police, as the task force conducted a “high-risk takedown” at about 3:30 p.m., the stolen vehicle sped off and the driver of the other vehicle fled on foot before being arrested following a foot pursuit.
The stolen vehicle was located in Toronto and seized for forensic examination.
On Friday, members of the PCJT’s “East Hub” attended an address in Mississauga. Officers commenced surveillance and observed a suspect leaving the address. He was arrested without incident.

Mehkash Sohal, 21, of Mississauga, is charged with robbery with violence, conspiracy to commit indictable offence, theft of motor vehicle, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Earlier this week, police said Marsih Mohamed, 24, of Whitby, was charged with robbery with violence, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of break-in tools and possession of a master key fob.
The investigation is ongoing.
