The ’60s earned a final Christmassy score of 7.60/10 despite having the fewest movies released including A Charlie Brown Christmas and another classic, How The Grinch Stole Christmas!, before Hallmark and Netflix entered the Christmas movie market.
Holiday films from the ‘60s averaged a 7.63/10 score.
Coming in at second position is the 1980s which saw the release of A Christmas Story and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, with holiday movies from this decade having the greatest engagement on IMDb, averaging over 56,000, votes and a rating average of 6.98/10 score.

The ’80s, which got an overall Christmassy score of 7.22/10, were also a time for controversial holiday films like comedy horror Gremlins and action flick Die Hard, which have led to perennial debates on their classifications as Christmas movies.
In third place is the 1990s with an average holiday movie rating of 6.17/10 for the decade which gave us such classics as The Nightmare Before Christmas, Home Alone, The Muppet Christmas Carol and While You Were Sleeping.
The ‘90s got an overall Christmassy score of 5.25/10.
