Four teenage boys are facing various firearm and drug charges after a gun was fired at police officers in North York.

Toronto Police say, on Thursday at approximately 11:40 p.m., officers were in the Jane St. and Grandravine Dr. area conducting a community safety patrol.

Police allege that, while in the area, the cops noticed four unfamiliar youths with their faces covered and hoods up.
When officers approached the group, police allege the youths ran and one of them fired a gun towards officers.

Cops say all four boys were arrested following a pursuit on foot, adding they were not from the area.
During the arrest, police say officers found two loaded firearms and illegal drugs.
Three 17-year-old boys, along with a 16-year-old boy, all from Toronto, are facing eight firearm offences, two counts of failing to comply with prohibition, three counts of failing to comply with probation, and drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.
