18 Thoughts I Had About the ‘Wicked’ Trailer

We’ve patiently waited for more details about Jon M. Chu’s big-screen adaptation of Wicked, and finally, we’ve been blessed with a full-length trailer.

As you might expect, the vocals are live, the green and pink aesthetics are on point (a classic color scheme for a reason!), and the whole thing already feels generally insane. 2. Has a witch hat ever served so hard? (Yes, this is purposeful J.K. Rowling erasure.)
3. Ariana is obviously killing it from her first notes, but TBH, hearing anyone but Kristin Chenoweth sing “Popular” will always hurt me a little.

11. Ariana is obviously the most fashion-y in this movie, but Cynthia Erivo is really managing to slay through her green makeup, and I think that deserves commendation.
12. I honestly thought the friendly looking white man I just saw onscreen was John Mulaney, but I think it was a different one.
13. I mean, we’d know if Mulaney was in Wicked, right? He does have an Broadway background…
14. I’m still so confused about the role of the hat.
15. Hm, not sure about the film’s interpretation of Oz.
16. I just want to live inside Glinda’s pink soap bubble, TBH.
