Kyuhyun was celebrating the final night of the musical Ben-Hur, in which he starred, when the incident occurred.
In a tweet, the record label said the star “encountered an outsider who caused distress to other actors” by allegedly threatening them with a knife.
In the course of restraining the intruder, Kyuhyun received a cut to the finger, which was described by his management as a “minor abrasion”.
“He was immediately treated on the spot and is currently in good health, fully capable of continuing his regular activities,” they told South Korean newspaper JoongAng Daily.
“We express our gratitude to all the devoted fans for their genuine concern.
“Rest assured, we remain committed to supporting the artist.”
South Korean police are investigating how the woman, aged in her 30s, managed to get the alleged weapon through security at the venue.
Kyuhyun is well-known in South Korea and beyond for his involvement with Super Junior, the band he joined in 2006.
But he is also well known as a musical theatre actor, appearing in Korean-language versions of shows such as Ben-Hur and Singin’ in the Rain.
The artist has more than two million followers on Instagram but is yet to address the shock incident on social media.
